Babies

Often being their first experience away from home, Hopscotch aims to create a strong, positive relationship with both you as parents and your child. It is important your child feel safe and secure whilst in our care, in order for them to thrive and grow developmentally.

Emily and Issie run our Baby area and offer the children a fun, nurturing experience day to day. They aim to encourage your child’s self-esteem through carefully planned activities and experiences in order to give them the confidence to build strong relationships with others.

Research shows that Play in a nature-based environment offers a richer conversational setting for language use. We therefore encourage a lot of outdoor play and trips with the little ones, giving them enjoyable experiences of their natural environment, building not only on their physical development, but also their communication skills.

We aim to provide a large range of opportunities in and out of the nursery to make your Baby’s day fun and exciting, these include;

Library

The children often take a trip to the library using our Hopscotch minibus to read some stories, join their singing session or explore their sensory room.

Local Community trips

We often use the Hopscotch minibus to get out and about, exploring our local community, such as Bath City Farm, local parks, The American Museum and Rainbow Woods to explore the trees.

Baby Gym

We encourage a lot of physical development using our soft play equipment so the children can explore different styles of movement, crawling, walking, climbing, balancing and learning to negotiate space.

Big Art

We love messy play and encourage our little ones to get stuck in, using their whole body to explore the texture and make marks. By encouraging their upper arm and shoulder muscle growth, you are helping them to form the foundations of pen control. They need to establish their gross motor skills in order to develop their fine motor skills. 

Sensory Tuft Trays

We set up lots of exciting tuft trays for them to explore multiple textures and sensory experiences.

Hopscotch celebrations

Join us each year for our Christmas Party to enjoy mulled wine and mince pies as well as our Summer Party to say goodbye to our School leavers.
